10:03 pm - it is the sleeping hour
bring me peonies and zinnias, lavender, but most of all, dahlias. The red ones I saw this week with their insistant white marks. Yes, those are the ones.

It's the time to turn off these bedside loft high lights. The weekend was worth mentioning: brooklyn book festival, wall-e (again), chai tea ice cream in a sugar cone with rainbow sprinkles from blue marble, a bellybutton scare and good nurse megan to tend to me, a walk (my longest yet since surgery*) cobble hill---boerum hill----park slope, a couple really good peaches, the last of the season.

*i had to lie down at the end of it

-getting to go to the co-op on a weekday during the day
-thinking about taking advantage of dine-in brooklyn tonight and tomorrow night
-taking care of my love by being able to say, yes, let's leave
-dollies
-reading The Voyage Out (and then the night watch and then wings of the dove and then the sea the sea and then....
-have i mentioned peanut butter puffins
-promising myself a cadbury cream egg

the not so good:
-the amount of debt now on my CC

Things gone missing within the last few days and months, listed on the 29th of January:

-bottle of ambien (eeeks!) (FOUND!)
-burgundy sweatshirt (FOUND!)
-one rainbow/black mitt (FOUND!)
-gothic lolita sailor sweatshirt from metamorphose temps (grrr!)
-glamrock sweater
-chase visa card (FOUND)
-erin fae (not quite found, but closer...so much closer)
-kissing jessica stein DVD
-Rent DVD
-pink kitty hoody
-knitting needle caps

Annoyance of the morning:
-realizing that everything i've taken to the 8th Ave dry cleaner has been damaged in some way
-not having the time to sew before work
-thus, having difficulty finding something to wear
-not reading the weather properly and wearing rainboots, carrying a large umbrella, and wearing my raincoat...and feeling foolish

Trying to focus on the beauty of small bookstores, the excitement of the coming days and months and maybe even hours. Realizing that these small annoyances are just small things. I might just need another cuppa tea.

Songs with the word 'snow' in the title that are part of Miss Fae's iTunes library

"snowfall summer" bonfire madigan
"Rise and Snow" The Be Good Tanyas
"listen the snow is falling" yoko ono
"snow come down" loir carson
"snow cherries from france" tori amos
"snow camping" laura Veirs
"the fox in the snow" Belle & Sebastion
"tell me it's snowing" The glass
"listen the snow is falling" Galaxie 500

The snow is the wet type, outside.  WAIT! Now it's not! Oh, it's perfect for standing out in awe, but awefully nice for staying inside with tea, a book or a letter or a pile of clothing to fold carefully and put away

12:28 pm - killing me softly
The radio plays "killing me softly" in the apartment next to mine. I'm all petticoat and forelorn expression this sunday morning, as usual. I kick myself. Why don't I give myself permission for sorrow, for heartbreak, for feeling anything, anything at all?

12:04 am

watched:
*Wallace & Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit so so cute! Little bunnies floating around everywhere: i die
*Kinsey which i really really enjoyed; i found it so moving and sweet (but then, im a kink girl who has a soft spot for entomology

for the entire year, thus far, i've attempted to read Sorcery and Cecilia and I'm going to just have to accept that it's not the right time. I mean, i can totally see where i should be really really into it (victoriana, epistolary prose, witchyness, a character named miranda, pleasing sign-offs)...but each page is taking me forever to read. I am going to return it to the library and try again in a few months. I have such a hard time admitting defeat with a book. I usually just stick to it, but the slow pace at which i am reading is just too frightful. So, i've started a new translation of Camus' The Stranger. After all, i want to finish all the other books i have checked out from the library. High on my list at the moment: The sea, the sea by Iris Murdoch and finally reading the brooklyn reader, which i've had for months!
